HEAD COACH MARK
I’m a born and bred Yorkshire athlete/coach who started out as a primary school teacher with an interest in keeping generally fit and healthy. Through the late 2000’s this developed into a keen interest in the sport of triathlon where I began to use my skills as a teacher to begin coaching. You can read a more detailed version of this story here.
Training for triathlons is a hard business. But training for triathlons whilst balancing everything life throws at you is even harder. In order for training to be effective it has to be adapted around the athlete and their often busy and unpredictable life. My coaching is centred around this method of taking into account an athlete’s wider circumstances and adapting a plan to suit them with the goal of increasing their performance.
A plan that works for one will not work for another. This is why the coach’s role is so much more than writing the plan. I pride myself on getting to know athletes personally so that we can better make training fit around their lives.
I look to find ways of allowing athlete’s to train consistently and adapt to their developing needs. All the while building resilience - triathlon is hard - to the rigours of endurance exercise whilst finding enjoyment in the process.
STRENGTH & FITNESS COACH - CAT
I’ve had so much experience as an athlete and as a teacher and I now have the time in my life to support others with their fitness and strength goals.
I’m a mum of two and understand the struggles of juggling work, family and the rest with training and the all important ‘me time’.
I’ve also experienced that makes fitting in exercise particularly challenging. But i’ve experienced first hand hos a quality coach can enhance and literally change your life.
It’s not about being pushed so hard it hurts. It’s about being listened to and having training that adapts to life and individual.
